The Department of Research and Equipment is a key research-support department that systematically supports the research of clinical faculty and researchers. Built on a research infrastructure spanning five floors of the Medical Research Innovation Center (CMI), with a total floor area of approximately 6,000 pyeong, it operates a variety of research spaces and facilities, including allocated lab bench space (Wet Lab, Dry Lab), specialized shared-equipment rooms, general shared equipment rooms, research professor offices, cell-culture rooms, freezer rooms, cold-storage rooms, and meeting rooms.

Providing an optimal research environment tailored to the purpose and characteristics of each study helps researchers concentrate on their work more efficiently and effectively. The Department of Research and Experiment also maintains approximately 900 types of shared research equipment, including advanced specialized analytical equipment such as confocal microscopes and flow cytometers, and operates 13 Core Labs (specialized analysis laboratories) as well as numerous shared equipment rooms to meet a wide range of experimental and analytical needs. Through this, researchers can more conveniently utilize high-value advanced equipment and professional analytical techniques, thereby improving the accuracy and efficiency of their research.

In addition, with approximately 600 clinical research personnel and more than 30 specialized research-support staff, it supports the vitalization of research and the systematic conduct of research operations. It regularly runs a variety of programs — including training in the latest experimental techniques, research-technique workshops, and equipment seminars — to help enhance researchers' expertise and strengthen research competitiveness.

Based on optimal experimental spaces, advanced instruments, professional analytical support, and a systematic operating system, the Department of Research and Experiment serves as the central hub of the research infrastructure that supports the creation of outstanding research outcomes.
