The Flow Cytometry Laboratory uses flow cytometers and cell sorters to analyze cell phenotypes, functional characteristics, and the composition of cell populations, and it supports the isolation of cell populations tailored to research objectives.

Flow cytometry is an analytical method that quantitatively measures the expression patterns of fluorescently labeled markers on individual cells and their distribution across cell populations. This enables a wide range of cell analysis experiments, including cell-surface marker analysis, intracellular marker analysis, immune cell subtype analysis, cell cycle analysis, apoptosis analysis, cell proliferation analysis, and cytokine analysis.

In addition, a cell sorter can be used to isolate cell populations that meet specific criteria, which can then be applied to various downstream experiments such as culture, genetic and protein analysis, and functional evaluation.

Beyond analysis and sorting requests, the Flow Cytometry Laboratory provides the technical support needed for equipment use and data analysis—including equipment training, instrument setup tailored to experimental objectives, and training on analysis software—so that researchers can operate the flow cytometers themselves.
