Shared Freezing Space Allocation (Standard) Procedure
Researchers who have been assigned an experimental bench at the Medical Research Innovation Center (CMI) may follow the procedure below to be allocated and use shared freezing space.
Submit Shared Freezing Space
Allocation (Renewal) Application
- Regular allocation application period every April
- [Required documents]
Review by Tissue & Serum Bank Staff
- The Tissue & Serum Bank staff member reviews the allocation application
Complete Freezing Equipment Training
- Allocated researchers complete freezing equipment training
Use of Assigned Space
- Use only the assigned space
- Notify the Tissue & Serum Bank staff member when changing the person in charge or withdrawing from the space
Monthly Usage Fee Billed the Following Month
- Receive and pay the invoice
Remove Specimens and Restore
to Original State After Use
- Withdraw specimens after completing use of the freezing space
- Restore the freezing space to its original state
Shared Freezing Space Allocation (Additional) Procedure
If an application exceeding the maximum usage per bench is required, space may be allocated through review by the Operating Committee of the Institute of Translational Medicine, Biomedical Research Institute.
Submit Additional Allocation Application
- Applications accepted year-round in January–March and June–December

Review by Tissue & Serum Bank Staff
- The Tissue & Serum Bank staff member reviews the allocation application
Review by the Operating Committee of the
Institute of Translational Medicine, BRI
- Review by the Operating Committee of the Institute of Translational Medicine, Biomedical Research Institute is required
Use of Assigned Space
- Use only the assigned space
